Do not treat a basement bedroom or recreation area like an upper-floor room without reviewing conditions. Moisture and water entry need assessment before a soft covering is selected. The intended room use should also be confirmed for the actual property.
Consider sheet vinyl where it fits.
Sheet vinyl is a different format from planks and tiles. It can be considered for suitable kitchens, laundry rooms and utility spaces. Room shape, sheet width and pattern layout determine whether seams are needed.
The substrate and preparation still matter. Ask about repairs, compatible materials and appliance handling. If an old covering is unknown or suspect, arrange appropriate assessment before disturbing it instead of assuming routine removal is suitable.
Plan how the installation moves through the house.
Discuss whether the rooms will be completed together or in stages. Identify where furniture can go and who moves it. If the project affects the only route between rooms, ask how access will be handled. Material-specific conditioning, installation and return-to-use instructions belong in the plan.
